Bert Veenendaal is Professor in Geographic Information Science and Head of the Department of Spatial Sciences at Curtin University. Bert has been involved in higher education teaching and researching in geographic information science for more than 25 years. He was instrumental in developing the well-recognised and highly successful teaching and research programs in Geographic Information Science at Curtin University. Bert is the recipient of numerous national awards for excellence in spatial education. Bert research interests lie in the areas of geospatial analysis and data handling, geospatial web mapping and services, collaborative and participatory GIS, and GIScience e-learning.
