Kara is a GIS Specialist and the owner of Dynamic Visions GIS. She has worked in local government for 5 years and within the USFS for 7 seasons. Kara has worked as a consultant on a variety of projects related to wildland fire, archaeology, health, fisheries, timber, ecology, creative arts, and conservation with a strong focus on building tools and presenting results through online maps and hybrid web applications. Collaborative efforts have included working with a diverse set of departments and agencies, including non-profit, private, state, federal, and international.

Kara has also been an active member of the GIS community through participation on multiple boards and committees. These experiences range from leading sub-committees for URISA, helping to plan conferences for URISA and NR-URISA, acting as Treasurer for NR-URISA, or reaching out to students and young professionals during her tenure on URISA's Vanguard Cabinet of Young Professionals. Kara has a Master's in Environmental Science with a concentration on Geospatial Analysis from the University of Colorado-Denver and a Bachelor of Science degree with minor in Marine Science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
